When to travel for less

Shoulder seasons, weekdays and flexible dates.

5 min read

When you go often matters more than where you book. Moving a trip by a week or a day can change the price a lot.

Cheaper times, generally

  • Shoulder seasons: just before or after the busiest months
  • Midweek travel days rather than Fridays and Sundays
  • Avoiding school holidays and big local events
  • Early morning or late flights

Use flexible date tools

Most fare and hotel search sites can show a calendar of prices across a month. Look at the whole month before you settle on dates.
