Cheaper flights, without the tricks
Compare total cost, not the headline fare.
The lowest fare isn't always the cheapest trip. Bags, seats and airport location can change the real price a lot.
What actually helps
- Flexible dates and nearby airports
- Setting price alerts on a few routes
- Comparing basic economy with the next fare up, including bags and seats
- Counting the cost of getting to and from each airport
Use the 24-hour rule
For US flights booked at least seven days before departure, airlines must let you cancel within 24 hours without a penalty, or hold the fare. If you find a better price soon after booking, that's your window.
